As I mentioned in a previous post, I moved into a room in a house full of strangers. And now that I’m somewhat settled, whatever that means, the isolation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic is making me antsy. All I can do is sit here in my tiny space working on my computer. So, I decided to go on a search for gnomes.
I noticed on walks with my dogs there are several gnomes around my neighborhood starting with the house I live in. So why not photograph them? I need something interesting to post on Instagram other than my take-out food.
I can’t go far because I took one of my dogs to the vet yesterday because he had a backache, and was told to restrict his outings to the front yard. My dogs squeal if I leave them home alone because they’re still in unfamiliar surroundings. Luckily, I have the handy shopping cart that I bought on Amazon and turned it into a pet stroller by putting a pillow on the bottom.
Here are some of the gnomes I found. You’d think I live in a community of Hobbits.
This guy is taking it easy laying on the grass. He doesn’t have a care in the world and couldn’t care less about the pandemic. All he has to worry about is if a dog lifts his leg on him but that’s about it. (most likely my dog)
I’m not sure what this guy is doing. It looks like he’s trying to tie a shoelace.
This gnome is in deep thought. Maybe he broke up with his fairy girlfriend or is thinking up some mischief.
These guys are between a rock and a hard place guarding the garden from intruders like the person who took this photo. (me)
So, there you have it. My day hunting gnomes. It’s one thing you can do while you’re going crazy in isolation.
Do you have gnomes in your neighborhood? How about fairies or pink flamingos? Please leave a comment below.
