Do you know someone who’s wild about hot sauce and always has a collection of bottles by their plate? I happen to live with one. Fuego Box sent me a My Chili Cause Crate of hand-crafted sauces and spices to try for myself. You can purchase one for yourself or as a gift for your favorite hot sauce lover and $5 of the proceeds will go to help fight prostate cancer.
The company’s focus is to find sauces that are big on flavor as opposed to “ass-burning heat.” That sounded good to me because I’m not into burning my tongue off. In addition to their gift boxes, they also offer their customers a “sauce of the month” that have been created by incredibly talented hot sauce geniuses, using ingredients that are locally harvested.
My crate arrived packed with five very cool “hot” selections. The Hot Hive Spicy Honey immediately caught my eye. It’s a raw uncooked honey labeled medium hot, but they say the longer it sits, the hotter it gets. You can use it on pizza, fried chicken, waffles, biscuits, cheese, hot tea, and ice cream! It’s infused with the Carolina Reaper, which is the world’s hottest pepper. (WARNING: DO NOT eat the pepper itself because it’s insanely hot)
I can imagine this delicious honey would easily clear your sinuses if you are sick with a cold in a steaming pot of tea.
Zana Organic Hot Sauce is also medium hot and will perk up your sandwiches, tacos, quesadillas, grilled veggies, chicken, potatoes, or anything else you love to put hot sauce on. The Yellowbird Serrano is also a medium hot sauce and is especially good on tacos or burgers.
If you have a milder taste palate, (like me) you may enjoy the Fat Cat Surprisingly Mild Guajillo Hot Sauce.
The Chile Cause Crate also contains a Bravado Jalapeño and Garlic Spicy Seasoning. I’m a big garlic fan so I’ll be having some fun with this bad boy.
When you purchase a crate, Fuego Box will donate $5 to the Prostate Cancer Foundation to help find a cure for the disease.
Fuego Box sent me this tasty crate of goodies in exchange for this review. However, my opinions are my own.
