I’ve had a love affair with essential oils for several years now and use them daily for healing, bathing, and as aromatherapy. When Aroma Foundry offered to send me samples of their products, it took me about a second to respond with an emphatic YES!
Their philosophy is “My Body is My Temple,” and I completely agree. I love that all their oils are 100% pure and all natural, are hand bottled in California (my home state) and are beautifully packaged in eco-friendly containers.
A word about the packaging
I’ve ordered essential oils online before and have received leaking or broken bottles several times. What impressed me right off the bat was that each Aroma Foundry bottle is meticulously packaged and secured in its own little box. There’s no way they can break even if the package gets tossed around – as they often do. In fact, it wasn’t easy to pry them out. That’s a good thing. No one wants a leaky bottle mucking up their mail.
I received nine perfectly packed full-sized boxes of Lavender, Peppermint, Mandarin, Patchouli, Sage, Tea Tree, Ylang Ylang, Lemon, and Basil essential oils. Each box contained a small flyer that includes the Aroma Foundry promise.
“We trust Mother Earth to sow oils of higher quality and authenticity than could be conjured up in a lab.”
Perfume vs. essential oils
I’ve never been a big fan of wearing perfume. A lot of fragrances are either overwhelming, contain chemicals, or cause allergic reactions that make other people sneeze. A small drop of an essential oil dabbed on the wrist or neck is pleasant to be around because it’s natural.

How to use essential oils
It’s important to apply a carrier oil before putting an essential oil directly on your skin because they can be potent. One time, a therapist applied cinnamon oil directly on my stomach and I immediately broke out in a rash. ALWAYS test the oil on a small area of your skin to make sure you don’t have an adverse reaction. I apply coconut oil to my wrists and then a SMALL drop of essential oil.
Some companies encourage you to ingest certain essential oils but Aroma Foundry clearly warns – “Not for internal use.”
I wholeheartedly agree. Why take the chance? Use essential oils carefully on your skin or infuse them in the air.
The benefits of essential oils
Lavender is probably the most popular oil and frequently used in aromatherapy. It reduces stress, relieves pain, disinfects the skin, improves blood circulation, and relieves respiratory problems. I enjoy adding a little to my bathwater and sometimes use it as a light fragrance on my skin. It’s also amazing as a sleep aid.
Tea Tree oil is a disinfectant and has been known to help heal fungal infections such as toenail fungus, athlete’s foot, or ringworm. It kills lice and mites that cause scabies.
Peppermint oil helps ease muscle pain from fibromyalgia or neuropathy. Mix it with lavender to relieve joint pain or coconut oil to cool down a sunburn. You may even want to try it as an insect repellent. Ants, spiders, cockroaches, mosquitos and other pests avoid peppermint oil like the plague.
A quick sniff of Peppermint or Eucalyptus oil is great for clearing sinus conditions.
Ylang Ylang is used often as a fragrance ingredient and is sometimes used as an aphrodisiac. It enhances mood, fights insomnia and chronic fatigue. Some say it fights the development of skin cancer cells. When it’s mixed with coconut oil and massaged into the scalp it prevents tangles, dandruff, and hair loss.
Then there’s Patchouli.
Baby Boomers will remember patchouli oil as the fragrance of our youth. Aroma Foundry’s Patchouli oil comes from Indonesia and is sourced from the pink and white flowers of the cablin shrub, which is in the mint family. It’s widely used as a medicine in Malaysia, Japan, and China.
I’m not a doctor or an expert on the benefits of essential oils. However, my continued use of certain blends has relieved my tension enormously and has kept me from getting sick. I rarely ever catch a cold anymore and I attribute it to my essential oils regime.
If you’re extra sensitive or wary of using an essential oil on your body, you use an infuser for aromatherapy or to freshen up a room. Chemical room fresheners and deodorizers give me a headache and cause me to cough. Pure essential oils don’t.
I could go on and on but if you are looking for pure, organic essential oils, look no further than Aroma Foundry.
